Our Chief Executive Officer, Pierce Dargan, and Chief Operating Officer, Finlay Dargan, were at the Summer Festival in Hippodrome Cabourg to see how our equine welfare systems could support the horse industry in France. A big thank you to Le Trot for inviting us for a great business and racing trip.

Cabourg Summer Festival goes for two months of twice-weekly trotting action. Boasting seventeen racedays between now and August 30, including eight Casaq Ligue events, the track is extremely popular with holiday makers staying at the nearby Normandy beach resorts. Every year, firework displays, concerts and themed attractions attract huge crowds. Taking centre stage are the Grand Prix de la Ville de Cabourg (July 22), a European event over 2850 metres, as well as the Prix des Hêtres (August 9) which serves as a springboard to September’s Critérium des 5 Ans at Vincennes.

It traditionally draws some of the generation’s best 5yos, such as Amiral Sacha last year, Vittel de Brévol in 2014, and 2013 runner-up Uhlan du Val who went on to finish second in the Criterium a fortnight later.
