Equine MediRecord COO Finlay Dargan and Equine MediRecord CEO Pierce Dargan at the National Ploughing Championships

Our Chief Executive Officer, Pierce Dargan, and Chief Operating Officer, Finlay Dargan, were at the Irish National Ploughing Championships (NPC) to showcase our Equine MediRecord system. With an average of 180,000 spectators, the NPC attendance has grown from the 3,000 that attended in 1932 to over 280,000 in the 2010s. Some outlets have described the National Ploughing Championships as a “flagship event in Irish agriculture” and as “the biggest outdoor exhibition and agricultural trade show in Europe”.

Equine MediRecord COO Finlay Dargan was interviewed by Ireland’s National Broadcaster RTE about the work we have been doing and our Equine MediRecord equine welfare systems. You can read the piece on RTE and listen to the interview here.

RTE (Raidió Teilifís Éireann) is the Irish public service broadcaster. It both produces and broadcasts programmes on television, radio and online. The radio service began on 1 January 1926, while regular television broadcasts began on 31 December 1961, making it one of the oldest continuously operating public service broadcasters in the world.

Equine MediRecord sells and maintains a revolutionary software platform which allows for the full veterinary history of the horse to be recorded securely, ensuring the best possible horse welfare as well as aiding with crucial anti-doping and biosecurity procedures. EMR’s platform has seen extensive traction after its launch only several years ago not only in Ireland, with the Dublin Horse Show and the Ballindenisk International, but also having amassed an impressive list of clients and users including the Maryland 5 Star, The Saudi Cup, Thoroughbred Owners of California, Kentucky Thoroughbred Association, the Arabian Racing Organisation, Pegasus World Cup, Preakness Stakes, and Breeders’ Cup World Championships. Last year Equine MediRecord received a multi-million euro investment from Merits Holdings to become part of their Business Infusions group, the largest equine veterinary software group in the world.
