This year, the Maryland 5 Star is upgrading the way they check and securely store competing horses’ health and vaccination records by partnering with Kildare-based Equine MediRecord (EMR).
EMR’s innovative technology helps simplify compliance to both the show’s equine health policies and the US Equestrian’s anti-doping regulations, while ensuring that each horse’s records are stored safely and securely.
To make the process even easier, show staff and EMR representatives will be on-site during check-in to help each competitor log their horse’s information into the EMR system.
Maryland 5 Star continues the storied tradition of eventing at beautiful Fair Hill at the newly constructed Fair Hill Special Event Zone in Elkton, Maryland. One of only two 5 Star events in the United States and only the seventh worldwide, the prestigious 5 Star (CCI5*) designation is the pinnacle of the equine sport of eventing, best described as an equestrian triathlon. The event showcases four days of competition in dressage, cross country and show jumping.
The Maryland 5 Star joins the list of prestigious events, including the American Classic Preakness Stakes, the Saudi Cup, Pegasus World Cup and 2021 Breeder’s Cup World Championships, that use EMR.
Easy to use and more secure than paper documents, EMR provides veterinarians, trainers and anyone managing equine medical records with a new way to track and send the paperwork they need to shows and events.
