Maid of Spirit in the winner’s circle with Ken Condon and Chris Hayes

Maid of Spirit won the first Equine MediRecord Handicap for Ken Condon and Chris Hayes, overcoming tough competition in the final furlong.

Ardhoomey (6-1) came second and Fridtjof Nansen (25-1) was third.

Owned by Con Harrington, Maid of Spirit a daughter of Invincible Spirit gave Harrington his first win of the flat season with racing having just restarted. Harrington has seen success at the Curragh in recent years with Crafty Madam winning the Finlay Volvo Cars Summer Fillies Handicap in 2019 on Derby weekend.
